One person was taken to the hospital after four vehicles, including an armored truck, collided Thursday afternoon in a chain-reaction crash in downtown Hagerstown, city police said.

The armored truck from Dunbar Armored collided with the back of a van, which caused two more cars to crash on West Washington Street at West Antietam Street, according to Officer C.P. Johnson of the Hagerstown Police Department.

Police arrived on the scene at 12:25 p.m. and shut down West Washington Street at the intersection.

An ambulance from Hagerstown Community Rescue Service took one unidentified person to Meritus Medical Center with minor injuries, Johnson said.

All four vehicles were driven away, and the road was reopened by 1:35 p.m.
