Two people were taken to the hospital and a Hagerstown man was charged with driving under the influence following a single-vehicle accident Wednesday night in the 13400 block of Maugansville Road, Sgt. James Grimm of the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
Christopher Rendell Dorm, 21, of 454 Park Place in Hagerstown, also was charged with driving while impaired, driving with a suspended license and driving with a revoked license, according to the Washington County Detention Center.
Grimm said Dorm's blood-alcohol content was unavailable.
The sheriff's office said an investigation determined that Dorm was driving a Plymouth Breeze south on Maugansville Road at about 10:15 p.m., when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a brick light pillar.
Two passengers, whose names were not available, were taken to Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Grimm said.
Grimm said Dorm was wanted on two warrants from Baltimore and Washington County. He said he didn't know the nature of the warrant in Baltimore, but said the warrant in Washington County was for a previous theft charge.
Dorm was taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
A jail employee said Dorm was being held on $15,000 bond on the driving charges and a $12,500 bond on the theft charge.
