HALFWAY — Summer Movie Express to start at Valley Mall
Visit the Valley Mall Regal Theaters, get your ticket stamped and come aboard the Summer Movie Express.
The event starts this month. Special admission prices will be offered through Aug. 10. Selected “G” or “PG” features will be shown every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. for a $1 admission.
The following is a list of movies playing for the summer series:
 June 21- 22 — “Alpha and Omega” and “Nanny McPhee Returns”
 June 28-29 — “Despicable Me” and “How to Train Your Dragon”
 July 5-6 — “Astro Boy” and “Marmaduke”
 July 12-13 — “Barnyard” and “Shrek Forever After”
 July 19-20 — “Karate Kid” and “Tale of Despereaux”
 July 26-27 — “Chronicles of Narnia” and “Yogi Bear”
 Aug. 2-3 — “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and “Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything”
 Aug. 9-10 — “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “Open Season 3”

Special events planned at Hager House
A Woman’s Day, program will be held this Saturday at the Hager House.
Take a tour of the Hager House and its grounds through the eyes of a Colonial woman. Learn hands-on about the herb garden and usages for herbs, how to dress like a lady and many more activities of Colonial women.
The walking lecture and hands-on experience is scheduled for 1 p.m. There is a $5 fee.
Reservations are required by Friday.
A free Herbs of Hager’s Time lecture will also be offered on Saturday. Take a visual stroll through the Hager House gardens, and learn about some of the herbs commonly grown in Colonial times and some of their unusual home and medicinal uses.

Youth praise team to perform at area church
Highlights, a youth praise team from Kirkland, Mo., is scheduled to perform at Concordia Lutheran Church, 17906 Garden Lane, on Thursday, July 7.
