Head Start of Washington County accepting applications

Head Start of Washington County Inc. is accepting applications for the upcoming program year.  

Families with children ages 3 to 5 are eligible to apply for the program. Children must be 3 years old by Sept. 1.  

Pregnant women and children ages 3 and younger are eligible to apply for the Early Head Start program. Acceptance into the program is based on the child’s age, family income and other family factors. Documentation is required when applying.

Head Start centers are at Martin Luther King Center on North Avenue, Westshire Center on West Washington Street, Elgin Station Community Center on Elgin Boulevard and Noland Village Community Center on Noland Drive.

Program options include part-day/part-year classrooms (September to May), full-day/full-year classrooms and home-based services.

Families must be receiving Purchase of Care vouchers to be eligible for full-day classes.

To receive an application, visit any of the Head Start centers or call the enrollment assistant at 301-797-5231, ext. 110.
