Mary Margurete Burton, 76, of Oak Ridge Apartments in Hagerstown, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

Born June 17, 1934, in Big Pool, Md., she was the daughter of the late Bruce Nevin and Lucy Irene Blake Snyder.

She was a 1952 graduate of Clear Spring High School, and also a graduate of Hagerstown Business College.

She was a member of the Indian Springs Church of God in Indian Springs, Md.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her cat, and enjoyed crocheting and reading the Bible.

Mary previously was employed by Fairchild Aircraft in Gaithersburg, Md., and most recently at Direct Mail Processing in Hagerstown, Md., until her retirement.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey W. Burton and his wife, Sandra, of Hagerstown; and two brothers, Ray J. Snyder of Sharpsburg, Md., and Archie G. Snyder of Williamsport, Md.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Snyder; and four brothers, Elwood Snyder, Irvin Snyder, Roy Snyder and Lee Snyder.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 10, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Bennett Wethered officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 9, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.
