Red Men Lodge to hold flag-retirement ceremony

The Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84 in Williamsport will hold its annual flag-retirement and recognition ceremony Saturday in the club pavilion.

The event starts at 1 p.m. with a concert by the Williamsport Community Band. The flag ceremony begins at 2 p.m. The community is invited to attend.

Nick Adenhart 5K Run and Walk is Saturday

The Nick Adenhart 5K Run and Walk takes place Saturday, beginning at 7 a.m. with registration at Pavilion 3 in Byron Memorial Park (enter from Springfield Lane.)

The Kids Rookie 1K Race begins at 8:30 a.m. The registration fee costs $10. The 5K race begins at 9 a.m. with a registration fee of $25.

All proceeds benefit the Nick Adenhart Foundation and the Hagerstown Fairgrounds Softball Association.

Downsville Ruritan carnival returns

The carnival sponsored by Downsville Ruritan Club returns to Byron Memorial Park Monday, June 13, through Saturday, June 18. There will be fun for the family with nightly entertainment, food, bingo and amusement rides.

Advanced amusement ride armbands are on sale through Sunday for $10 each during regular business hours at Williamsport Town Hall, G.A. Miller Lumber Co., Downsville General Store and P&S Equipment in Marlowe, W.Va. Armbands can be used on one night of choice.
