Greetings, neighbors. Sure hope all is well with you. Remember that the little ones are out of school for the summer. Watch for bikes, scooters and skateboards.

Gardeners invited to library workshop

Gardeners, experienced and novice, are invited to Boonsboro Library Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a program titled “Native Plants: Lovely and Easy Care.”

The class is presented by Washington County Master Gardeners and will include information about plants that are native to Maryland and easy to care for in yards and gardens. Attendees are encouraged to bring in samples of pest and plant problems (in a plastic bag, please) and to ask questions.

Concert series

The Shafer Park Concert Series continues Sunday with a performance by The New Horizons Band. Musicgets under way at 7 p.m. Bring your family and a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy one of the many perks of living in our little town.


Class of 1977

The Boonsboro High School Class of 1977 will resume its monthly reunion meetings in preparation for the upcoming 35th reunion. It’s a nice way to continue to stay in touch. Please join the committee and get involved.

Pig roast planned

The Boonsboro Fire Co. will host a pig roast/luau Saturday, June 25, beginning at 6 p.m.

The event will be held rain or shine at the substation at 3417 Rohrersville Road.  

Tickets cost $15 and include a platter meal, soda water and beer tickets. There will be a DJ on site, tip jars, 50/50 and games. For tickets, call Jessie at 301-432-5515.

Band forming

A new opportunity for budding and seasoned musicians is now available in Boonsboro.  

The Boonsboro Community Band is now forming and is looking for interested players.

The only requirement is to have an instrument, be able to read music and get to rehearsals.

The group will be a casual, seasonal organization with one or two performances each summer. If you are interested in learning more, email or look for their page on Facebook.
