The Hagerstown Lioness Club will hold its regular club meeting Thursday at the Academy Theater Banquet & Conference Center in downtown Hagerstown. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Past District Gov. Dave Fisher will induct the 2011-12 officers and board members. Attendance awards will be presented.

Elizabethtown East

Elizabethtown East Neighborhoods 1st will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Gourmet Goat, 41 N. Potomac St.

Vacation Bible School planned at St. Andrew's

A Vacation Bible School titled "Shake It Up Cafe: Where Kids Carry Out God's Recipe" will be held June 12 to 16 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Ave.

There will be classes for those ages 4 to adult, including Bible stories, music, crafts, recreation and snacks. This VBS is sponsored by St. Andrew's and Emmanuel United Methodist Churches.

VBS at St. John's

St. John's Lutheran Church will hold its Vacation Bible School titled "Nazareth: Where Jesus Was a Kid" June 13 to 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Participants can become part of history by experiencing what it was like to live in Jesus' hometown.

Explore marketplace shops, visit with Jesus' mother, Mary, play games, dance to Bible songs and sample foods as you discover more about Jesus' childhood.

The church is at 141 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown.

Rebel Reunion set for June 25

The South Alumni Association will host the Rebel Reunion Saturday, June 25, to celebrate 55 years of education at South Hagerstown High School.


All South High alumni, administrators, teachers, staff and their guests are invited.

Dinner and music will be provided at a cost of $30 per person (with a cash bar).

The dinner menu includes mesculine garden salad, steak au poivre, seafood au gratin with basmati rice, garlic whipped potatoes, sauteed vegetables and chocolate lava cake.

A DJ will be on hand to spin tunes from every generation.

Also, there will be a nostalgic slide show with pictures from every yearbook.

There will also be a casual gathering on Friday, June 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cancun Cantina.
