Poetry featured in exhibit

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Eastern Panhandle poets' work is on exhibit in the innovative show "Poetry Works on Walls" at the Fire Hall Gallery and Charles Town Visitors Center, 108 N. George St. in Charles Town, W.Va. The exhibit opens at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 5, and continues through August. A reception will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.  "Poetry Works on Walls" is co-sponsored by the Bookend Poets — a monthly Eastern Panhandle workshop — and the Arts and Humanities Alliance of Jefferson County (AHA!). The show runs in Charles Town through the summer and then will become a traveling exhibit.  Poets exhibiting work are Tom Donlon, Jean Ehman, F. Ethan Fischer, Ginny Fite, Paul Grant, Sonja James, David Lillard, Christa Mastrangelo, Georgia Lee McElhaney, Nancy McKeithen, Stanley Niamatali, Shepherd Ogden, Thomas Small and Ed Zahniser. "Poetry Works on Walls" is curated by Shepherdstown Poet Laureate Georgia Lee McElhaney, former editor of the literary journal Pivot. The show was produced by Nancy McKeithen, Administrator of  AHA! and principal of The McKeithen Group design and editorial firm.
