The Smithsburg High School Class of 1976 will celebrate its 35-year reunion over the weekend of Aug. 13.

On Saturday, Aug. 13, the reunion will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. at the North American Rod & Gun Club in Hagerstown. There will be an outdoor barbecue with live music by classmate Morgan Jenkins and her band, The Holders. Dinner will include barbecue chicken and burgers.

There will be a casual gathering on Friday, Aug. 12 and Sunday, Aug. 14. The events will be held rain or shine.

Strawberry fest

Ringgold Ruritan will hold its strawberry festival Saturday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It will feature strawberry shortcake, strawberry cheesecake, strawberry pie and ice cream with strawberry topping. There will also be homemade soups, hot dogs, chili dogs, steamers and drinks

The TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0462 in Smithsburg had a total net loss for the week of 13.5 pounds. Leading the way was Brittany with a 3.5-pound loss. John had a 2.75-pound loss and Ola lost 2.5 pounds.

The chapter is planning a yard sale Saturday, June 18, in the St. Paul's United Methodist Church parking lot at 51 N. Main St. in Smithsburg.

Community yard sale

The Stonecroft Tenant Association will hold a community yard sale and bake sale Saturday, June 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Stonecroft Apartments, at 11400 Stonecroft Court, off Robinwood Drive.

Church yard sale

Christ Reformed United Church of Christ will hold a yard sale Saturday, June 4, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is on Cavetown Church Road.

Spaces are available to rent for $10.
