Frank J. Divelbiss, 87, of Chambersburg, Pa., died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at 11:10 a.m., surrounded by his family at his home.
Born Sept. 7, 1923, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was a son of the late Frank L. and Celia M. Murry Divelbiss.
Frank was a farmer, and he retired from Stouffer Brothers of Chambersburg, where he worked as a mechanic and welder.
He enjoyed his family, friends, gardening, and watching football, baseball and NASCAR on television.
He was a member of Welsh Run Church of the Brethren, Mercersburg.
His wife of 66 years, Helen M. Keefer Divelbiss, died Nov. 22, 2010.
Surviving are four daughters, Shirley and husband, Mike Lilley, of Baltimore, Md., Linda L. Divelbiss of Annandale, Va., Judy D. and husband, James Mongold, and Brenda M. Divelbiss, all of Chambersburg; grandchildren, Shawn and wife, Brandy Ott, Todd and wife, Jacqueline Lilley, Tara M. Lilley and Heather L. Lilley; great-grandchildren, Julia R. Lilley, Emma A. Lilley and Cashal F. Ott; sisters, Edna (Mrs. Amos) Wyand of Keedysville, Md., Ruth McNarin of Hagerstown, Md., and Joyce (Mrs. William) Ernst of Mercersburg; and a brother, Richard Divelbiss of Clear Spring, Md.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Welsh Run Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. William Spangler and the Rev. Nathan West officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
Viewing will be one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.
