Jason A. Malott named Democrat of the Year

BOONSBORO — The Washington County Democratic Central Committee Thursday night announced Jason A. Malott as the Democrat of the Year at its annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.

Malott, a Williamsport resident, was elected register of wills in Washington County in the fall. He has worked in the register of wills office since 1999 and became chief deputy in 2007.

In a brief speech during the dinner, Malott noted that he and his wife, Melinda, were celebrating their wedding anniversary that day.

He said he comes from a strong union family.

“I was probably a Democrat in the womb, I’m sure,” he said.

The dinner was held at Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro.
