Road, lane closures for Wednesday

Here is a list of road and lane closures in the area for Wednesday, May 18, 2011:

• The intersection of Massey Boulevard and Halfway Boulevard near Hagerstown is still undergoing its expansion project, causing traffic to be backed up in each direction at different times. Road work is expected to continue there until Thanksgiving.

• The intersection between Dual Highway and Edgewood Drive is still undergoing a project to have it widened. Traffic is sometimes sluggish each way there.

• Md. 550 in Thurmont, Md., is still closed in both directions between Eylers Valley Flint Road and Kelbaugh Road due to a mudslide that occurred April 17. The  Maryland State Highway Administration says it is still unsure when it will reopen.

• The left shoulder of I-70 westbound is closed at the Md. 65 exit for guardrail repair, the Maryland State Highway Administration’s website is reporting. The closure is expected to last until May 26 between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day.

• Both shoulders of I-70 westbound just south of U.S. 40 between Boonsboro and Myersville will be closed for guardrail repair, the Maryland State Highway Administration’s website is reporting. The closure is expected to last until May 19 between 9:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. each day.

• The right shoulder lane on I-70 westbound is closed just past Downsville Pike, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration's website. The website is reporting that the closure will last until Thursday, May 19.

• The right shoulder of Md. 65 southbound will be closed Tuesday for guardrail repair, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration website. The closure is expected to last until May 26 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

• The left shoulder of I-70 westbound is closed just after Ersntville Road for guardrail repair, the Maryland State Highway Administration’s website is reporting. The closure will last until May 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

•  The left shoulder of I-70 westbound is closed just a mile east of Hancock, right after Exit 3, for guardrail repair, the Maryland State Highway Administration’s website is reporting. Closure is expected to last until May 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
