West End Lions Club
West End Lions Club news:
• On April 16, the club held its first spaghetti dinner, and even though the weather didn’t cooperate, the dinner was fairly successful. The club will try again in the future.
• On April 19, the club hosted the Region II Leader Dog Banquet. Club members donated items to be auctioned by guest speaker Len Quinn. Quinn, who is blind, talked about his training and how he got his guide dog from the Lions. He said the blind can now get a GPS, with their dog, to find their way. He said the Lions also teach guide dogs for the blind and the deaf.
The auction was a success.
• This month, the club has had another successful ham sandwich sale.
• Finally, club members will serve a pancake breakfast to those participating in the Wagon Train on Sunday, May 22.
