Christ Reformed United Church of Christ will hold a yard sale Saturday, June 4, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is on Cavetown Church Road.
Spaces are available to rent for $10.

Cascade Elementary
Physical education news: All classes at Cascade Elementary School will be moving into their final activities of the year. Third-, fourth- and fifth-grade classes will begin to head outside as they did in the beginning of the year. Kindergarten, first- and second-graders will start to head outside for the first time this year.

Smithsburg TOPS, or Take Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 0462 had another good week of weigh-ins. For two weeks in a row, Mary was the thinner winner.
It was announced that John and Mack would be going to the 2011 TOPS International Recognition Days in Milwaukee in July.
John led the program on “Who is Driving Your Bus to Weight Loss?”
The chapter also welcomed another new member. Bonnie has joined the group in hopes of reaching her ideal weight.
The group meets Thursdays at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church 51 N. Main St., Smithsburg. Weigh-in starts at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6 p.m.

Stress and weight
The Washington County Health Department will offer a program titled “EBT: A Scientific Solution for Stress and Weight.”
Orientation for the EBT program will be held Thursday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at the health department and at 7:15 p.m. at the Western Maryland Hospital Center. Orientation also will be held Monday, June 6, at the Brunswick (Md.) Medical Center: Monday, July 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Western Maryland Hospital Center; and Thursday, July 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the Robinwood Professional Center.

The program was developed by professionals and is designed to help those struggling with weight issues by focusing on stress, which is the root of the obesity problem.
