Maugansville Elementary School will host Henry’s Hustle, a one-mile run/walk, on Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There is no registration fee for the run/walk, but donations will be accepted.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which raises funds for and awareness of childhood cancer.
Henry’s Hustle is named in honor of Henry Scheck, a Maugansville resident who lost his life to cancer in 2009, the same year he would have started kindergarten at the elementary school.
This year’s Henry’s Hustle also will honor Maugansville Elementary School physical education teacher Tracy McKinsey, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the beginning of the school year.
McKinsey has been an active member of the Maugansville community, coaching minor-league baseball, volleyball and basketball. She recently received a bone-marrow transplant.
