Man stabbed during disturbance at Martinsburg parking lot

four charged

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Police on Sunday responded to the parking lot of Union Sales Dodge on East Race Street and discovered a person had been stabbed in the back, according to the Martinsburg Police Department.

The victim also was kicked, and a folding knife that was used in the attack was found at the scene, according to a news release.

The disturbance occurred at about 5:30 p.m., Lt. G. F. Macher Jr. said Monday. During the attack, the victim’s cellphone was taken, Macher said.

Rodney Edwards and Tina M. Ernst, both of 311 N. Maple Ave., each were charged with receiving and transferring stolen property, police said.

Also charged were Devon Fletcher, 24, and Brandon Ballard, 32, police said.

Fletcher and Ballard, who also live at 311 N. Maple Ave., each were charged with malicious wounding and first-degree robbery, police said.
