Stress and weight

The Washington County Health Department is offering classes for EBT: A Scientific Solution for Stress and Weight starting this month.

The program, developed at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, is designed to help individuals struggling with weight issues by focusing on the root of the obesity problem: stress. Individuals will understand their drive to overeat sugary, fatty foods and learn how to rewire the circuits in their brains that create these cravings. Individuals who retrain their brain to ease stress and have more joy in their life find it easier to make lifestyle changes.

The method is based on research in brain science and is conducted by certified providers. Daytime and evening classes will be held in Hagerstown. Classes will also be held in Brunswick, Md., on Monday evenings. For more information, call 240-313-3360; TTY 240-313-3391.
