Cub Scouts receive Arrow of Light

  • Three Webelo II Scouts from Cub Scout Pack 34 recently became members of Boy Scout Troop 62 at Pack 34's annual Blue and Gold Banquet. Cub Scout Pack 34 held its annual Blue and Gold Banquet Feb. 19 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.  

Following dinner, the pack held its crossover ceremony for three Webelo II Scouts. Webelos II Den Leader Steve Shubert and Cubmaster David Hardman led the ceremony.  

Jakob Bowers, Dylan Johnson and Gavin Shubert were presented with the Arrow of Light, the highest award in Cub Scouting.  

Jakob, Dylan and Gavin crossed the bridge into Boy Scouts and were welcomed into Troop 62 by Committee Chairman Carey Leverett, Senior Patrol Leader Colton Duvall, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader Josh Yoder and 2nd Class Scout Chris Rowan.  

Troop 62 presented them with bolos to replace their Webelo neckerchiefs.  

Cub Scout Pack 34 is chartered by Christ Lutheran Church in Hagerstown and meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.  

Boy Scout Troop 62 is chartered by the Chewsville Lions Club and meets Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Chewsville Community Center.
