Wilson College logo wins National Educational Advertising Award

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Wilson College logo was awarded a silver medal in the Higher Education Marketing Awards competition in March.

Wilson's logo was entered in the Educational Advertising Awards logo/letterhead category, in which awards were given for materials displaying exceptional quality, creativity and message effectiveness.

Wilson's logo was selected from more than 2,500 entries from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries. Gold awards were granted to 214 entrants and 189 entrants received silver awards.

Wilson's logo was developed in 2009 by Boston-based Carnegie Communications as part of a larger branding project to identify the college's distinctions and strengthen its brand in the educational marketplace.

The tag line "Wilson College with Confidence" was developed because confidence is an attribute noted by every group in the college community during the branding research process.

Sponsored by Higher Education Marketing Report, the Educational Advertising Awards event is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country.

Judges consisted of a national panel of higher-education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals, and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report, a monthly publication.
