WINCHESTER, Va. — Dr. Alan C. Haspel is a new surgeon at Winchester Oral Surgery Center.

HMS Technologies Inc.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration presented the Region 3 Entrepreneurial Success Award to Harry M. Siegel, president and chief executive officer of HMS Technologies Inc. of Martinsburg, on April 29.

HMS was selected for the award among nominations for Region 3, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.


The award recipient must own or operate a business that was initially defined as "small" under the applicable SBA size standards, developed into a large business and must have received SBA assistance to help the business grow.



BPWSITV Good Manners Training for Dogs and Their People

Karol A. Kennedy, owner of BPWSITV Good Manners Training for Dogs and Their People in Hagerstown, has earned certification through the Council for Professional Dog Trainers, joining the ranks of nearly 2,000 certificants worldwide.

Until the creation of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers in 2001, there was no true certification process for canine professionals.  Implemented by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, the largest association of dog trainers in the world, a task force of 20 internationally known dog-training professionals and behaviorists worked for three years to research and develop the first comprehensive examination.  

Candidates must have logged 300 or more hours as primary training instructors and pass the 250-question exam to earn the title of Certified Professional Dog Trainer — Knowledge Assessed. Continuing-education credits must be completed annually to maintain their designations.



Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Scott Palmer and Todd Crawford with Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA were recently recognized as agents of the month for March in the Greencastle office.

The award is given based on the number of listings taken, sales made and closed sales, as well attendance at Realtor functions and continuing-education classes completed.

Palmer was recognized for the five years and over in the business category. Crawford was recognized for the five years and under in the business category.

Palmer has been selling real estate for 25 years and is an associate broker.

Crawford has more than 20 years of business and sales experience. He is licensed to sell all types of real estate in Pennsylvania.
