HAGERSTOWN — One person was taken to Meritus Medical Center at 1:30 p.m. after a two-vehicle collision on West Washington Street at Elgin Boulevard, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.

The driver of a Honda was injured in the crash that also involved a sport-utility vehicle, said Hagerstown Police Patrolman Wayne Hose. The extent of her injuries was unknown, he said.

Hose arrived on the scene at 1:17 p.m. and closed off the intersection.

The injured woman was the only person in the Honda, Hose said. Two people were in the SUV, he said.

A tow truck arrived at 1:40 p.m. and towed the Honda away at 1:47. It was severely damaged in the front. The SUV had only minor scratches on the back and could be driven from the scene.

Police cleared the scene at 1:49 p.m. and reopened the intersection for traffic.
