BUNKER HILL, W.Va. — A Maryland woman and her son were taken to hospitals Monday afternoon after the vehicle she was driving collided with a truck on Interstate 81 in Berkeley County, West Virginia State Police said.
Jennifer Rae Marick, 26, of Sykesville, was driving a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo northbound at 5:27 p.m. when she went off the west side of the road, police said. The Rodeo went back onto the road, but then spun into the median and onto the southbound lanes, police said.
The Rodeo collided with a trailer being pulled by a Volvo truck driven by J. Barry Holmes, 50, of Slatington, Pa., police said.
Marick was taken to INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., by helicopter, but a hospital spokeswoman said this morning that she had been discharged. Her 3-year-old son, who was not identified by name, was taken to Winchester (Va.) Medical Center for examination for possible injuries, police said.
Holmes was unhurt, police said.
