Registration deadline for recipe exchange is Tuesday

Tuesday is the last day to register for the Boonsboro Free Library’s spring recipe exchange and tasting party. The tasting party will be Tuesday, May 3, at 6 p.m.

Bring a copy of the recipe to the library Tuesday to register for the event. On May 3, bring your prepared dish to the tasting party. Participants will sample the goodies and will receive a booklet containing the recipes that were submitted. Drinks will be provided. To register, call 301-432-5723.

Citizens group to meet

Citizens for the Preservation of Pleasant Valley will hold a meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Rohrersville Ruritan Schoolhouse on Rohrersville Schoolhouse Road.

Representatives of the State Highway Administration will discuss the proposed portable variable message sign and dynamic message sign on U.S. 340. Refreshments will be served.

Yard sale

Mount Nebo Christian Preschool will hold a yard sale Saturday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parking-lot-size spaces are available for $25. To reserve a space, call Kim Crigger at 301-432-6042.

Yearbook reminder

A reminder from Boonsboro High School: Don’t miss your chance to recognize your favorite 2011 grad. Senior ads and salutation forms for the 2010-11 yearbook are due to Mrs. Dyer. Additionally, a last-chance order for the yearbook will be May 9 to 13.


Limited copies of the 2009-10 yearbook are available for purchase, as well. For more information, call Dyer at BHS.

Fitness class

The Washington County Recreation Department will offer a low-impact fitness class at the fire hall on St. Paul Street in Boonsboro. Certified instructor Beth Shifler teaches the class, which includes toning and stretching.
Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. starting May 10 and ending Aug. 11. Please bring a towel or mat for floor exercises.  

The class costs $45 for Washington County residents and $55 for nonresidents. The class costs $55 for those ages 55 and older.
