Stress and weight classes planned

The Washington County Health Department, 1302 Pennsylvania Ave., is offering classes for EBT: A Scientific Solution for Stress and Weight, starting in May.

This program is designed to help individuals struggling with weight issues by focusing on the root of the obesity problem: stress.

Individuals will understand their drive to overeat sugary, fatty foods and learn how to rewire the circuits in their brains that create these cravings.

Individuals who retrain their brain to ease stress and have more joy in their life find it easier to make lifestyle changes that last.

The method is based on cutting-edge research in brain science and is conducted by certified providers.

Daytime and evening classes will be held.

An orientation about EBT is scheduled Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at Western Maryland Hospital Center.

For more information and to register for an orientation, call the Washington County Health Department at 240-313-3360; TTY 240-313-3391.
