Washington County Tech High honors Younker, Dagenhart

Brett Younker and Haley Dagenhart have been named Students of the Month for April at Washington County Technical High School.

Brett is a senior enrolled in the pre-engineering class at Tech High.  

His academic schedule includes pre-engineering, advanced-placement language, advanced-placement calculus, forensic sciences and digital electronics.  

Brett’s home school is Hancock Middle/Senior High.  

He maintains a 3.41 grade-point average.

He works at Woodmont Rod and Gun Club.  

After graduation, he plans to attend college at West Virginia University in Morgantown and study mechanical engineering, with a goal of working as a firearm designer for Heckler and Koch.  

Brett is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers.

He would like to thank his parents, friends and teachers for their continued support and guidance in all of his endeavors.   

Haley is a senior enrolled in the biomedical sciences class at Tech High.

Her academic schedule includes biomedical sciences, advanced-placement English language, advanced-placement calculus, honors psychology and yearbook.

Haley’s home school is Boonsboro High.  

She is editor-in-chief of the yearbook and is a member of the National Technical Honor Society. She has a 3.79 grade-point average.

Haley enjoys painting, drawing and playing the piano.

She works as an office assistant at H&R Block in Brunswick, Md., and is an active member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren, where she participates in activities such as volunteering at the Rescue Mission in Hagerstown.   

After graduation, she  will attend Salisbury University to pursue a degree in marketing. She hopes to own her own business someday.
