Charlotte Cora Decker, 94, of 100 S. Mont Valla Ave., Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the Williamsport Retirement Village, Williamsport.

Born Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1917, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Seitz Irvine and the late Mary Ellen Keefer Irvine.

She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1934. She was a crossing guard in Hagerstown for 15 years. She was employed with Hagerstown Dry Cleaners for 17 years. She was also an organist at First Christian Science Church for 33 years and assistant organist at St. Mark's Lutheran Church for 14 years.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the choir for 55 years, a charter member of the Alter Guild and also taught Sunday school. She was also a member of AARP and volunteered at the Walnut Towers Meal Site.

She is survived by three daughters, Leila E. Stottlemeyer of Mercersburg, Pa., Janet I. Decker-Smith of Jackson, Maine, and Mary A. Nelson of Hagerstown; son, Herman “Bernie” Decker of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman M. Decker; son, Wayne A. Decker, and brother, Robert Irvine.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 601 W. Washington Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740, with the Rev. G. Stanley Steele officiating.

Interment will be held privately at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Music and Worship Committee, 601 W. Washington Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
