George Frederick Stotler, 79, of Fairplay, Md., passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Sept. 22, 1931, in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Lauren and Anna Mary Rudisill Stotler.

He attended Hagerstown High School and played soccer in high school.

George was a self-employed farmer for 30 years until retiring in 2000. He was the owner/operator of the Double T Lounge in Hagerstown, Md., for 22 years. He also worked at Dixie-Narco, Charles Town, W.Va., and Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown. In addition, he owned several rental properties in Washington County.

He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Williamsport, Md.

George was a member of Conococheague Tribe 84 IORM, Williamsport, Md. He also bowled for Marquette Cement and played baseball and softball in Washington County for years.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Barbara J. Wiley Stotler of Fairplay; sons, Greg Stotler of Boonsboro, Steve Stotler of Fairplay, Mark Stotler of Boonsboro, Darrell Black of Boonsboro, and Todd Stotler of Boonsboro; stepson, William Palmer of Williamsport; stepdaughters, Letti Palmer of Hagerstown, and Trudy Smith of Boonsboro; sisters, Audrey Lowery of Ohio, and Betty Flook of Hagerstown; brothers, William Stotler of Boonsboro,  Howard Stotler of Keedysville, Harold Stotler of Hagerstown, Clyde Stotler of Fairplay, and Joseph Stotler of Boonsboro; 16 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one step-grandson, Dustin Smith; one son, Jeff Stotler; four brothers, Charles Stotler, Richard Stotler, Edgar Stotler and Robert Stotler; and three sisters, Doris Rutherford, Loraine Hargett and Marie Stotler.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Thursday, April 21, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 1 p.m. on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Friday, April 22, 2011, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. James E. Swecker officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
