Smithsburg woman injured in two-vehicle crash

April 19, 2011

A Smithsburg woman was taken to Meritus Medical Center after a traffic accident Monday at the intersection of Md. 66 and Chewsville Road.

Maryland State Police Trooper 1st Class Doug Bittinger said Kayla Lindemon, 20, was injured in the two-vehicle accident that backed up traffic for about 45 minutes.

Bittinger said the vehicle operated by Lindemon rear-ended a vehicle that was waiting for a third vehicle to turn left onto Chewsville Road at about 3:35 p.m.

The vehicles were traveling north on Md. 66, he said.

Traffic moved slowly through the area while the scene was cleared.

Bittinger said Lindemon had minor injuries.

Lindemon’s condition was not available Monday night.
