Alson George "Bud" Loy, 95, of Winchester, Va., died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Winchester, the son of Edward H. and Estelle Carper Loy.  

He was a graduate of Handley High School in 1934. He was a heating and air conditioning contractor and owned Loy's Oil Burner Service. He was a former member of Rouss and Sarah Zane fire companies.

"Bud" married Frances Clem Loy on Dec. 21, 1935, in Hagerstown, Md. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2004.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara L. Rush, and her husband, Richard, of Waynesboro, Pa.; a son, Edward W. Loy and his wife, Colleen, of Frederick County, Va.; two granddaughters, Julie Rush and Kristie Chaney, of Hagerstown; and two great-granddaughters, Hannah Chaney and Tayler Chaney, of Hagerstown.     

The family will receive friends at Jones Funeral Home, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

A graveside service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Mount Hebron Cemetery with Pastor Steve Melester officiating.
