Mr. Aaron Thomas Ball, 25, of 5232 Fort Loudon Road, Mercersburg, Pa., died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in Hagerstown, Md., as the result of a workplace accident.

Born March 25, 1986, in Prince George's County, Md., he was the son of Matthew and Kari J. (Williams) Ball, Mercersburg. He spent his early years in Southern Maryland before moving to Mercersburg.

Mr. Ball received his General Education Development certificate in 2003 and graduated in 2006 from Hagerstown Business College with a degree in business administration.

He was employed by Staples Distribution Center, Chambersburg, Pa., later by Ingram Book Co., Chambersburg, and most recently served as a temporary employee of Purina Mills, Hagerstown.

Mr. Ball was a self-taught computer programmer and builder.

He enjoyed time with his son fishing, playing video games and riding bicycles. He also enjoyed rock climbing and was a Washington Redskins fan.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Damien A. Ball; his girlfriend, Kristin Cummings, Chambersburg; paternal grandmother, Patricia J. Ball, Greenbelt, Md.; maternal grandparents, Vance and Joan Williams, Fort  Collins, Colo.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William H. Ball.

Memorial services will be held at noon Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, Pa., with the Rev. A. Robert Cook officiating.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Following the service, the family will receive friends and family for a time of fellowship and refreshment at John Allison Public House, 104 E. Baltimore St., Greencastle.
