WILLIAMSPORT — Clear Spring Road (Md. 68) near the Conococheague Creek bridge north of Williamsport will be temporarily closed Saturday, April 23, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration said in a news release.
The road will be closed from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. weather permitting.
Tree branches and other debris wedged beneath the bridge will be removed to restore normal water flow, according to the release.
The closure of the two-lane road is necessary to provide ample room to place a crane on the bridge to clear the debris that occurs after heavy rains, the release said.
SHA suggests drivers use the following detours:
• Motorists north of the bridge will turn left on Pinesburg Road, right onto Kemps Mill Road, right on Md. 63, right on U.S. 11 and back to Md. 68.
• Motorists south of the bridge will turn right on U.S. 11 (Potomac Street) in Williamsport, then do a quick left onto Md. 63 (Greencastle Pike), a left on Kemps Mill Road and a left on Pinesburg Road back to Md. 68.
