Hagerstown Community College student Keri-Jon Faulkner of Hagerstown has been named a Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Silver Scholar.

Faulkner, 24, is an English major at HCC and will graduate in May. After graduating, she plans to transfer to the University of Maryland at College Park to pursue two bachelor’s degrees in English and American studies. Faulkner will also pursue a master’s degree in English, with the ultimate goal of teaching literature and creative writing at the college level.

As a Silver Scholar, Faulkner will receive a stipend and a special medallion.


TOWSON, Md. — Amy Clipp of Hagerstown has accepted membership in Golden Key International Honour Society and was honored during a recent induction ceremony at Towson University.

Golden Key provides academic recognition to top-performing college and university students, as well as scholarships and awards, career and internship opportunities, networking, service and leadership development opportunities.

Amy is a senior majoring in elementary education.

She is the daughter of Galen and Sandy Clipp of Hagerstown.      


WILLIAMSPORT — Chick-fil-A’s 38-year-old national leadership scholarship program has awarded the honor to Rachel Fulcher of Williamsport.

A $1,000 scholarship was presented to Fulcher from franchise operator Randy Scott at the restaurant in Hagerstown.

Fulcher is the 27th employee from that restaurant to receive the honor. She attends Bible Institute and College in Chicago, where she is studying Christian education.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. —  Anna Baldasarre of Hagerstown, a first-year student at Gettysburg College, has been named to the dean’s honor list for the fall semester.


GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Gettysburg College offers off-campus study abroad opportunities. These programs supplement and enhance regular on-campus courses.

Adam Kay of Ijamsville, Md., a junior,  is spending the spring semester studying in Japan.

David Bowen of Smithsburg, a junior is spending the spring semester studying in Denmark.
