He originates from Breckenridge, Pa., a son of Clyde and Mary (Ferney) Whitmire.

Glenn, after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, went on to Gettysburg Seminary School, where he became an ordained Lutheran minister. He served as pastor at several churches in Pennsylvania and Maryland in his early years. Glenn, after a 25-year career in the chemical industry, started his own professional management business in environmental engineering, in Bakersfield, Calif.

Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Angle, of Waynesboro, Pa., and parents.

He is survived by his son, Stephen (Lisa) Whitmire of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters, Denise (Ed) Axmacher of Loganville, Ga., and Deborah (Chris) Cardone of Auburn, Ga.; a brother, Clyde Whitmire of Lexington Park, Md.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Cremation took place at Cheyenne Memorial Services, under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomksy Chapel. Private family services are being planned, with final interment being at Center Church in Garrett, Pa., at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United States Humane Society in Glenn's name.
