8:22 a.m.: Traffic on I-270 southbound remains very slow from Frederick to Clarksburg and from Germantown to I-495. Traffic I-495 is almost completely stopped around Washington, D.C.
I-70 eastbound traffic is sluggish from New Market to Mount Airy and from Sykesville to the Baltimore area. In the Baltimore area, traffic on I-695 is very slow going north and south off of I-70.
Traffic on I-81 northbound is running smooth, but on I-81 southbound it is slow on the Virginia-West Virginia border.
In Frederick, U.S. 15 southbound traffic is sluggish at the Golden Mile and U.S. 15 northbound traffic is slow from I-70 up to Rosemont Avenue.
In West Virginia, traffic on U.S. 340 eastbound is still sluggish from Charles Town to Harpers Ferry, and traffic on U.S. 340 westbound is slow in Charles Town.
Md. 355 is still having regular signal light delays slowing traffic.
In Frederick, Monocacy Boulevard is still closed between East Patrick and South streets due to a sinkhole, also causing the exit ramp from I-70 westbound to South Street to be closed off.
Hagerstown is still dealing with signal light delays on Dual Highway and East Washington Street.
8:01 a.m.: I-270 southbound is still seeing very slow delays from Frederick to Clarksburg and from Germantown to I-495.
Traffic on I-70 eastbound is just a little sluggish from Sykesville to Ellicott City.
Near Baltimore, traffic is very slow on I-695 both ways between Towson and I-70 and from I-70 to I-895.
In Virginia, traffic on I-81 southbound is sluggish in Winchester, and in West Virginia, traffic on I-81 southbound is sluggish in Martinsburg. I-81 northbound traffic is sluggish in West Virginia from Falling Waters to the Maryland-West Virginia border.
U.S. 340 eastbound traffic is sluggish in West Virginia from Charles Town to Harpers Ferry, and U.S. 340 westbound traffic is smooth but a little slow in Virginia.
There are still signal light delays on Md. 355.
In Frederick, Monocacy Boulevard is closed between East Patrick Street and South Street due to a sinkhole which has also caused the exit to South Street from I-70 westbound to close.
In Hagerstown, there are signal light delays on Dual Highway and West Washington Street.
7:25 a.m.: I-270 wouthbound toward Washington is still slow from Frederick to Clarksburg and from Germantown to I-495.
I-70 eastbound toward Baltimore is a little sluggish from Ellicott City to Sykesville, as is I-81 N from Inwood to Falling Waters in West Virginia.
The only incident on the major highways in the area is the closure of the I-70 westbound exit to South Street in Frederick due to a sinkhole, which has also caused Monocacy Boulevard to close between South Street and East Patrick Street.
Also in Frederick, Jefferson, East Street and the Golden Mile are all seeing sluggish traffic. U.S. 15 southbound has minor slowing from the Golden Mile to I-70, and U.S. 15 Northbound is sluggish around Jefferson.
U.S. 340 eastbound is sluggish through Charles Town and Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
Md. 355 has signal light delays in both directions
In Hagerstown, Dual Highway, West Washington Street, South Potomac Street and National Pike are all seeing sluggish traffic as well, with signal light delays on Dual Highway and West Washington Street.
7:05 a.m.: Traffic is still slow on I-270 southbound from Frederick to Clarksburg and Germantown to I-495.
Eastbound I-70 toward Baltimore is sluggish Sykesville to Ellicott City.
In West Virginia, I-81 northbound is sluggish from Inwood to Falling Waters, but I-81 southbound is fine. U.S. 340 Eastbound is slow in the Charles Town and Harpers Ferry areas.
