Students and families were invited to school for a "pinning" ceremony, which included certificates, pencils, erasers, bookmarks and pens, followed by ice cream sundaes and family bingo. The Washington County Association of Museums and Historical Sites will have exhibits at Valley Mall this weekend educating the public about some of the county's historical gems. The event will be Saturday and Sunday.

Baby and Beyond event at Valley Mall  

A Baby and Beyond Expo will be held Saturday and Sunday at Valley Mall. The expo is  centered around babies, children, teens, families, moms and dads-to-be.

Museum to celebrate Art in Bloom event

Beginning Saturday, Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will hold Art in Bloom, floral arrangements inspired by art.

A preview of the event will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

A children's workshop is planned Saturday from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Kids Day at Hager House on tap for Saturday

A Kids Day at Jonathan Hager House will be Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.

Children will get to see the Hager House and off-tour items and areas. They will also get the chance to touch and feel objects at the house. The event will include a dress-up session, where children can try on Colonial clothing and learn and play Colonial games.

 The program will be available on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission costs $2 per child and $2 for adults with paying child. Registration is required by Friday. For more information, go to

WHS Choral Department to perform 'Grease'

Williamsport High School Choral Department invites the community to its spring musical, "Grease," a play based in 1959 that follows the adventures of Sandy, Danny and the students of Rydell High.

Under the direction of Musical Director Michelle Rafter, Choreographer Dan Henderson and Artistic Director Kimberly Jensen, the students will bring the stage to life as they travel through high school in a different time.

Performances are Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
