James G. Glunt, 78, of McConnellsburg, Pa., passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, at his residence.

James was born in Orbisonia, Pa., on July 31, 1932, the son of the late Harry A. Sr. and Esther (Smith) Glunt.  

He was the husband of Karen M. (Buterbaugh) Glunt, whom he married on Sept. 15, 1984.

Mr. Glunt was a member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, Pa., and retired from Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, Md. in 1991.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Terry G. Glunt of Hagerstown, Timothy H. (husband of Michelle) Glunt of Hagerstown, and Todd A. Glunt, of Seattle, Wash.; stepdaughters, Bonnie S. (wife of Scott Sr.) Hann of Fort Loudon, Pa., and Sherry A. (wife of Daniel) Bailey of McConnellsburg; daughter-in-law, Donna K. Glunt of Hagerstown; sisters, Virginia Nauss of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Shirley Smith of Elizabethtown; grandson, Christopher Glunt; step-grandchildren, Rashaun Hann, Destiny Hann, Scott Hann Jr., Autumn Bailey, Samuel Bailey and Angela Naugle; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Edward Glunt, Harry A. Glunt Jr. and Robert E. Glunt.

Religious service will be at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011, with Pastor Denver Plessinger officiating.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.

There will be visitation on Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Karen Glunt, 5076 Cito Road, McConnellsburg PA 17233.
