Boonsboro Library plans events for youths

• A spring break party for teens and ’tweens ages 11 to 17 will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Boonsboro Free Library.

• Bring some friends for a movie, refreshments and a nighttime egg hunt with prizes. The movie “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” (2010, rated PG), will start at 6 p.m. For more information, call 301-432-5723.

• The Eggstravaganza Children’s Program will be held Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. Join Ms. Marcella for an expanded story time, which will include an egg hunt and the movie “Tangled” (rated PG-13).

Chicken barbecue planned Saturday

Enjoy freshly barbecued chicken Saturday at the Boonsboro Ambulance and Rescue building. Chicken halves cost $6, and a full dinner costs $7. A variety of baked goods will also be available.

The sale starts at 9 a.m. and will last until the chicken is gone.  

Yard and bake sale set for Saturday, April 30

Plan now to pick up some bargains at the Benevola United Methodist Church yard and bake sale Saturday, April 30, from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The church is at 19925 Benevola Church Road in Boonsboro (midway between Boonsboro and Funkstown off Alternate U.S. 40 — Old National Pike). Look for the large sign.

Chili cook-off planned May 14

Plans are under way for the annual chili cook-off and open mic at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The event will be Saturday, May 14, at the church at 64 S. Main St. in Boonsboro.
