Monday traffic update: Driver taken to hospital after Downsville crash

Traffic updates from Herald-Mail mobile reporter Caleb Calhoun:

10:49 a.m.: A driver of a white 1993 Honda was found unconscious after the vehicle veered off the road and damaged a fence and two mailboxes in front of the Downsville Ruritan, Inc. Community Center on Downsville Pike (Md. 632).

The Washington County Sheriff's Department arrived on the scene at 9:44 a.m.

Officer James Bowers said that an apparent medical condition caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The driver was taken to Meritus Medical Center with minor injuries at 10:20 a.m.

The car was towed away and police cleared the scene at 10:43 a.m.

10:15 a.m.: The accident in Downsville involved one vehicle. The driver was found unconscious, authorities said.

9:51 a.m.: There is a property damage accident near the Downsville Community Center. There has been no report of injuries.

7 a.m.: Traffic is clear in the greater Hagerstown area. There are no reports of incidents or congestion in or near Washington County.
