COLLEGE BASEBALL
Three pitchers combined to hold down the Shenandoah University JV team on Sunday as  Hagerstown Community College claimed a 6-0 victory with a four-hit shutout.
Colby Fisher worked seven innings and Brian Lester and John Shobe finished up for the Hawks (24-12). Fisher struck out five and walked only one.

Lazaro Torres had four hits and drove in two runs, while Seth Poffenberger and Jordan Thurber had two hits and one RBI apiece.

Shepherd 8, West Liberty 5    
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Aaron Scoville empited the bases with a triple in the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and lead Shepherd past West Liberty.
Nathan Minnich, of Waynesboro, Pa., had a home run for the Rams (11-14, 7-11 WVIAC).

Mercersburg wins two
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — Hagerstown native Christian Binford fired a one-hitter to lead Mercersburg Academy over Lawrenceville 4-0 in the opener of a doubleheader on Sunday.

Binford (3-0) struck out six and allowed only one runner to get as far as second base.
Sam Rodgers had three hits and two RBIs for the Blue Storm and Lorenzo Vasquez and Matt Timoney each had two hits.

In the nightcap, Mercersburg came away with a 5-4 win.

Mike Collins got the win in relief of Will Levangie, who left the game after an ankle injury at the end of the third inning.

Tucker Sandercock had three hits and two RBIs. Vasquez and Matt McMahon had two hits apiece for the Blue Storm (8-1).
