Lawrence David Everhart, 58, of Ringgold Street, Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born March 16, 1953, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Fred Everhart of Hagerstown and the late Anne Keckler Everhart.
He attended South Hagerstown High School from 1969 to 1972.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1972 to 1974.
He was retired from the Washington County Highway Department.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and South Mountain Rod and Gun Club.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Deborah A. Burkett Everhart; one son, L. David Everhart Jr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Donna Rafter and Jennifer Peer, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, Mike Everhart and Chris Everhart, both of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Garrett Everhart and Caleb Everhart, both of Hagerstown, and Elliott Churchey and Mason Churchey, both of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Barkefelt.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m.
