Mr. Joseph Harold Bullock of Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, Pa., left this life on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.

Born in Highspire, Pa., March 5, 1917, he was the son of the late Joseph Bullock and Martha Mae (Poorman) Bullock.

Mr. Bullock graduated from Highspire High School with the Class of 1936 and played clarinet in the marching band.

He served in World War II with the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific. Following the war, he was honorably discharged and went to work for the U.S. government until his retirement in May 1972. He then established a second career as a bee keeper and candy man, helping to establish the Franklin County (Pa.) Beekeepers Association and serving as vice president.

Mr. Bullock attended Grace Bible Church, Greencastle.

He is survived and will be sorely missed by his loving wife of almost 64 years, Romaine (Robinson) Bullock; two sons, Dennis Bullock of Zullinger, Pa., and Hal Bullock of Tulsa, Okla.; five granddaughters, Emily Snyder of Harrisburg, Pa., Christy Bullock of Raleigh, N.C., Kelly Loepp of Tulsa, Rebecca Hite of Waynesboro, Pa., and Laura Bohrer of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and five great-grandchildren, Savannah and Mikel Hite, Mattie and Morgan Bohrer, and Easton Loepp.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Louise Alphin.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, with Pastor J. Herman Fisler officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
