Mr. Ronald Francis "Ronnie" Kefauver Sr., 70, of Middletown, died suddenly Tuesday, April 5, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Gloria Stockman Kefauver.

Born in Waynesboro, Pa., on June 25, 1940, he was raised by his grandparents, John and Mary Kefauver.

He was employed by the Model Garage in Middletown for 19 years and retired after 22 years with the Frederick County Board of Education. He was a life member of the Middletown Volunteer Fire Co., where he attained the rank of sergeant and lieutenant. He was an avid bowler, fisherman and gardener. He was also a member of Christ Reformed UCC, Middletown.

Surviving, besides his wife, are one son, Ronald F. "Pete" Kefauver Jr. and wife, Kim Miskell, Middletown; one daughter, Virginia Lee Flook and husband, John, Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Kefauver, Steven Bradley Kefauver, Danielle Nicole Kefauver, Derek Eugene Flook and Jonathan Lee Flook; two stepgrandchildren, Trent Wood and Cody Wood; one half-brother, Doug Kefauver, Frederick; three half-sisters, Doreen Kefauver of Mount Aetna, Donna Jean Poole of Frederick and Diane Kefauver of Frederick; and a special uncle, Virgil Kefauver of Wolfsville.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Middletown Volunteer Fire Co. memorial service at the funeral home Friday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, at Christ Reformed UCC, Middletown. The Revs. Mark A. Wakefield and David Coblentz will officiate. Interment will be made in the Christ Reformed UCC cemetery.
