Va. man charged in connection with Berkeley County stabbings

INWOOD, W.Va. — Berkeley County Sheriff's Office deputies said they were sent to a house at 194 True Apple Way Wednesday morning for two people being stabbed outside a house.

The two victims were taken to Winchester (Va.) Medical Center for nonlife-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Deputies were sent to the house near the Inwood Post Office before 5 a.m., the release said.

A suspect, Phillip Robert Cave, 36, 1034 Leaksville Road, Luray, Va., was taken into custody by the Page County (Va.) Sheriff's Office, the release said.

An extradition hearing has not been set, the release said.

Cave was being held Wednesday in the Page County Jail on traffic charges and a fugitive from justice charge related to the Berkeley County incident, the release said.

Cave has been charged with two counts of malicious wounding in Berkeley County, the release said.

Police could not be reached Wednesday night regarding additional details of the stabbing.
