Creative-writing workshop

Washington County Free Library, in partnership with Hagerstown Community College, will present a free interactive, creative-writing workshop session on Monday, April 11, at Valley Mall. Breakfast with mom  

Mothers of students who attend Hickory Elementary School are invited to a special Moms and Muffins breakfast for students and moms Friday, April 15.

WHS choral department to perform 'Grease'

Williamsport High School Choral Department invites the community to its spring musical, "Grease," a play based in 1959 that follows the adventures of Sandy, Danny and the students of Rydell High.

Under the direction of Musical Director Michelle Rafter, Choreographer Dan Henderson and Artistic Director Kimberly Jensen, the students will bring the stage to life as they travel through high school in a different time.

Performances are Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. For more information, call 301-766-8433.

School reminder

Parents of Washington County students, be sure to note the following on your calendar:


Schools will close 2 1/2 hours early on Wednesday, April 20, to mark the end of the fifth marking period for students in secondary schools. Schools will be closed Thursday, April 21, Friday, April 22, and Monday, April 25, for spring break.

Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 26.

'His Story'

A dramatic presentation of "His Story" will be performed at Virginia Avenue Church of God, 17306 Virginia Ave.

Presentations will be performed Saturday, April 9, Sunday, April 10, Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16, with all presentations beginning at 7 p.m.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. A nursery will be provided. Good will offerings will be accepted.
