Hedgesville hands Jefferson first loss

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. — Hedgesville stunned Jefferson with a rally that knocked the Cougars from the unbeaten ranks Tuesday.

Jefferson (10-1) held a 4-1 lead before the Eagles (7-1) tallied four runs in the fifth inning and two in the sixth.

Cody Butts had a two-run double in the fifth inning. Phillip Longnecker doubled to drive in two runs in the sixth.

Trevor Poe had a two-run home run for Jefferson.

Martinsburg 12, Washington 2

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Zach Stolipher was the star for Martinsburg as the Bulldogs downed Washington in a game shortened by the 10-run rule.

Stolipher pitched five innings and allowed three hits, while he cracked two doubles and drove in three runs offensively.

Zach Woolcock had three hits and scored three runs for Martinsburg (10-0).
