HAGERSTOWN — The Maryland State Highway Administration will close one lane of traffic Wednesday on westbound Interstate 70 southeast of Hagerstown, the SHA said in a news release.

Crews will repair a 135-foot section of pavement near the bridge over Black Rock Road, just east of Exit 35 (Md. 66).

Work will begin at midnight and continue until about 3 p.m. Wednesday.  Weather permitting, SHA will complete the repairs by the Wednesday evening commute, according to the release.

“SHA must perform the work during the morning and afternoon to ensure temperatures are suitable for new pavement to achieve adequate strength,” Anthony Crawford, SHA District 6 engineer, said in the release. “By allowing crews to work during the 15-hour time frame, we anticipate completing the repairs without affecting tomorrow’s evening commute.”
