Quarter auction to benefit child care center

Kinder Haven Child Care Center invites the community to its benefit quarter auction Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St. Doors open at noon and the auction begins at 1 p.m.

Admission costs $5. All ages will enjoy bidding quarters for a chance to win an item; a drawing between the bidders determines the winner. More than 80 new items will be "auctioned," including many brand names.

Slippery potpie dinner planned for Saturday

An all-you-can-eat slippery potpie dinner will be Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Calvary Temple, 147 S. Conococheague St.

Tickets cost $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for those ages 3 to 12.

The menu includes ham and chicken slippery potpie, coleslaw, applesauce, dessert and drinks.

Passport fair set at post office

Williamsport Post Office will conduct a passport fair Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments are not necessary but can be scheduled by calling 301-223-7007.

Bring the following: passport application, available at the post office or online at; proof of U.S. citizenship (birth certificate must be original copy or certified copy by the state); proof of identity; and two identical color passport photos (photos must show a clear likeness, be 2x2 in size, and a white background). Photo service is offered at the post office for $15. Both parents or legal guardians are required for children younger than 16.

Rabies vaccinations offered for cats and dogs

Promise Animal League will hold a rabies vaccination clinic for cats and dogs Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pavilion 3 in Byron Memorial Park. Enter at Springfield Lane.

The fee costs $8 per animal for the 1- to 3-year vaccinations. All pets must be leashed or in crates.

Angel Food ordering set

Angel Food orders will be taken Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., in the Fellowship Hall.

Walnut Towers residents order today from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Potomac Towers residents order today from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Payment is made at the time of ordering. The program is open to everyone.
