Waynesboro Farmers Market accepting vendor applications

April 05, 2011

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Vendor applications are being accepted for the second season of the Waynesboro Farmers Market. The market will run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, May 14, through Sept. 10, on Center Square in downtown Waynesboro.

In addition to seasonal produce, items the market might offer include herbs, meats, dairy products, baked goods, honey, jams and jellies, cider, syrups, bedding plants and flowers.

New this year is the "Backyard Farmers" program. This is geared toward the non-commercial home gardener who has an abundance of produce. These producers may come to the market on a weekly basis. A $10 weekly vendor fee applies.

Farmers or other producers are invited to participate in the market. Those interested may view the Waynesboro Farmer's Market Handbook online at www.waynesborofarmers.org or receive a copy by mail upon request.

Market coordinator Sandi Gardner is also looking for volunteers to help with the market. For more information on becoming a vendor or a volunteer, or for an application, email info@waynesborofarmers.org or call Gardner at 717-765-4741, or 717-762-0397.
