Traffic update

  • A tow truck arrived at the scene of the accident on Dual Highway at 7:07 a.m. Monday.

Reports from Herald-Mail Mobile Reporter Caleb Calhoun:

11:28 a.m.: Traffic on I-70 is slow and backed up but moving following the accident.

11:25 a.m.: There was a wreck on westbound I-70 about a mile away from Exit 32. Two people were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

11:05 a.m. (corrects earlier report): There is an accident involving multiple cars and property damage on Poffenberger Road near Sharpsburg Pike (Md. 65). No injuries have been reported yet. There will be more details as the story develops.

10:20 a.m.: There is road work on Dual Highway heading west between Edgewood Drive and Mt. Aetna Road. Only one lane is open right now.

7:17 a.m. - The damaged car was towed away at 7:14. Police have now also left the scene. No injuries were reported, and the traffic has cleared up.


7:11 a.m. - A tow truck arrived at the Dual Highway accident at 7:07 a.m. The driver of that car was checked out for injuries but authorities said there was nothing serious.

7 a.m. - A car rear-ended another one going east on Dual Highway in front of Dunkin' Donuts. Traffic is a little slow in that direction.

6:43 a.m. - Traffic on Interstates 70 and 81 is clear. There are no reports of wrecks or incidents slowing down traffic from the State Police departments or the sheriff's departments in the region.

6:40 a.m. - There is a wreck on Dual Highway by the Pizza Hut. No injuries have been reported, and police are on their way to the scene. The Washington County Sheriff's Office is reporting that traffic is not backed up from the incident.
